Hello there!
Thanks for stopping by. Welcome to the MTA fam!
I will assume you are here to learn more about who we are. And if so, you are in the right place.
I am Nike (nee-kay), the owner and accessory aficionado behind More To Adorn and I will just dive right in and say that this is personal for me.
I am a plus-sized woman. I love accessories and I love the way wearing accessories makes me feel. I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. Getting dressed is always an ordeal for me but I can not deny that my favorite part of pulling a look together is the accessories. The rings, the bracelets, the necklaces. A headscarf or headband. Give me all of it. Accessories have always been my differentiator.
I've spent a lot of time in this weird fashion purgatory-type space where I want to blend in and not draw (negative) attention to myself because of my body-type, so I wear lots of black, but I also want to be me and be seen for the unique individual that I am so I flare with accessories.
I am a busy working mom and wife with not a lot of time for glamour but when it is time to get dressed and present myself to the world, I do whatever I can to remind myself that I am beautiful in my skin, that I can be confident in my body and in my clothes (whatever it is), and that I am worthy of feeling good from within no matter what. Accessories help me to do that. It is just a shame that people like me don't have as much access as everyone else. The fashion and accessory industry just isn't dialed in to the plus-size needs.
But I don't have to explain this to you, because I know I am not alone here.
I believe that we ALL deserve to #slay in whatever way makes us happy.
So MTA is on a mission to serve others who feel this way and make sure that we all have access to accessory options that make us feel confident....just the way we are. Today.
More To Adorn is black-woman owned. We lead with love, light, and respect. We believe in equality and access for everyone. We believe that we are worth it.
